Cloud Images

These images are produced by the Alpine Linux Cloud Images build system.
To report problems or request features, please open an issue with detailed information.

Notes

• Images are available for supported combinations of CPU architecture (aarch64 or x86_64), boot method (BIOS, UEFI, or Limine), instance bootstrap system (Tiny Cloud or cloud-init), and machine type (virtual or bare metal).
  
  
• The login user for all images is "alpine". SSH public keys supplied through the cloud provider's instance metadata service are installed for this user.
  
  
• See the importing guide for guidance on importing and launching these images with various cloud providers.
  
  
• Generic images are intended to be used on any cloud provider that is auto-detected by Tiny Cloud or cloud-init. Please consult the official documentation for those projects for a current list of supported providers.
  
  
• Each image variant is built as QCOW2 and also distributed in provider-ready formats. The QCOW2 artifact is used for Generic, NoCloud, and OCI; VHD is provided for AWS and Azure; and raw.tar.gz for GCP.
  
  
• Published AWS images can be viewed or launched through the AWS console by selecting a "Launch Region". The corresponding VHD can also be downloaded for importing into another account.
